Dictatorships like Syria, China and the Sudan, and monarchies like Saudi Arabia, represent a few people at most but they get the same vote in the UN as 270 million free Americans. Syria was elected to the U.N. Security Council in October 2001 by 160 nations out of 177. This proves that the UN is unworthy of trust or respect by anyone.
