Comment from Omdurman.org: abuse of the Red Cross or Red Crescent to conceal munitions or combatants is probably a capital war crime whose perpetrators can and should be executed upon conviction by a general court-martial. This is not legal advice as I am not a lawyer, military or otherwise, but death has been the traditional penalty for the abuse of medical symbols, white flags, and the like during wartime. The same applies to combatants who disguise themselves as civilians or in the opposing side's uniforms (Palestinian terrorists have done both).
