White, Gray, and Black Propaganda
A Palestinian propaganda source is posting black propaganda
in soc.culture.israel and other newsgroups. This means posting your
side's propaganda and signing the other side's name to it. It is a
dangerous procedure because it discredits you completely if you get
caught at it.

other than the true one. This type of propaganda is associated with covert
psychological operations.
Example of Black Propaganda: "Guard Against Venereal Diseases"
Lately there has been a great increase in the number
of venereal diseases among our officers and men owing to prolific contacts
with Filipino women of dubious character.
Due to hard times and stricken conditions brought about
by the Japanese occupation of the islands, Filipino women are willing to
offer themselves for a small amount of foodstuffs. It is advisable in such
cases to take full protective measures by use of condoms, protective medicines,
etc.; better still to hold intercourse only with wives, virgins, or women
of respective [sic] character.
Furthermore, in view of the increase in pro-American
leanings, many Filipino women are more than willing to offer themselves
to American soldiers, and due to the fact that Filipinos have no knowledge
of hygiene, disease carriers are rampant and due care must be taken.U.S. Army

troops? It was actually dropped on Filipinos by the Japanese! The
Japanese propagandists wanted Filipinos to believe that the United States
was the origin of this derogatory material, thereby reducing cooperation
with the United States.
* Linebarger was also an eminent Sinologist, and he wrote science fiction under the pen name Cordwainer Smith.
Arab Deployment of Black Propaganda in soc.culture.israel
A terrorist sympathizer is posting anti-Israel and
pro-Palestinian propaganda under the name of another user, ArKLyte, in
soc.culture.israel.. ArKLyte is a pro-Western regular in that
newsgroup. The terrorist sympathizer would have done better to use gray
propaganda (posting under a fictitious name) than to impersonate a real
user because he got caught very quickly. Here is proof of this
individual's actions.

Many people believe the US invasion of Iraq was primarily about oil,
not weapons of mass destruction (WMD). There is still no evidence of WMD, but it is indisputable that Iraq has oil.

Vague or Doctored Photos

propaganda sources posted the following picture of an Israeli soldier
"menacing a terrified Palestinian family with his rifle." The
photograph was too dark to see what was really going on but lightening
it with Corel PhotoPaint shows the truth.
(1) The soldier's finger is obviously outside the weapon's trigger
guard, where it belongs unless he wants to shoot. Furthermore, he is
apparently not looking through the weapon's sights and the butt is not
against his shoulder, so he is obviously not planning to shoot anyone.
(2) The child's parents seem more curious than afraid. The woman in the white headscarf is not even looking at the soldier.
(3) Although the weapon's direction of aim is hard to see when the
photo is darker, it is obviously pointed nowhere near the family.
