We previously discussed the Canadian Islamic Congress’ efforts to intimidate Mark Steyn over his “The Future Belongs to Islam.” Steyn’s piece describes how Islamic supremacists are waging demographic warfare on their surrounding societies through indiscriminate breeding. We add that the Islamic supremacist strategy is similar to that of malignant cancer, which overwhelms the surrounding healthy tissue through uncontrolled reproduction. The same applies to the Palestinians’ so-called Right of Return. By whitewashing and downplaying the malignant behavior of individuals who identify themselves as Muslims, the Canadian Islamic Congress is an enabler and facilitator for Islamic supremacy, and it has no place in Canadian (or any other civilized) society.

On the positive side, there is an organization that apparently represents genuine Canadian Muslims: the Muslim Canadian Congress. In contrast to the Canadian Islamic Congress, an apparent enabler and facilitator for the cancer of militant Islam, the Muslim Canadian Congress denounces Islamic supremacist behavior as non-Islamic.

MCC appeals to Khartoum: Set British teacher free

TORONTO - The Muslim Canadian Congress has expressed shock and dismay over the recent imprisonment in Sudan of a British school teacher accused of insulting the Prophet Muhammad and is appealing to the Government of Sudan to immediately set the woman free.

The MCC further noted that Sudan has ratified international treaties that pertain to civil liberties and freedom from cruel, inhuman and degrading punishments and must be held accountable to these treaties. Furthermore, the interest of upholding the image of Muslims as being tolerant and rational people is not served when barbaric zealots go out on a witch hunt on non-issues.

The statement said, “this is one more indication of the bankruptcy of the Islamist agenda worldwide–a contempt for joy and revulsion of happiness.” Sudan’s Islamists have a record of using Islam as a shield to carry out their authoritarian, misogynist and racist policies. Whether it is their role in the Darfuri genocide or the public execution of Mohammed Mahmud Taha in 1985, Sudan’s Islamists have been an embarrassment to the rest of the Muslim world.

This is exactly what mainstream Muslims should be doing: disowning and repudiating the barbaric behavior of pre-medieval savages who invole the word “Islam” to justify the worst imaginable atrocities. The fact that the Canadian Islamic Congress is trying to sweep this behavior under the rug while silencing its critics shows that the Canadian Islamic Congress is a major part of the problem as opposed to the solution. The Muslim Canadian Congress, in contrast, represents genuine Muslims. Far from demanding the institution of Shariah (militant Islamic law), the Muslim Canadian Congress opposes it.

MCC welcomes Government Bill to end Religious Arbitration

TORONTO - The Muslim Canadian Congress has welcomed the introduction of a bill in the Ontario Legislature that will end religious arbitration as a substitute for Ontario Family Law. The MCC has also called on the NDP and the Progressive Conservatives to unanimously back the Liberal government’s initiative.

“We welcome the government’s commitment to the principle of “One Law for All”; we are relieved that the McGuinty government did not succumb to the pressures of religious clerics who were trying to turn back the clock and use the judicial system to enforce their waning authority over vulnerable communities. Let us keep Rabbis, Imams and Bishops out of Canada’s judicial system,” said Tarek Fatah, Communications Director of the Muslim Canadian Congress.

Here is what the Muslim Canadian Congress says about the Saudi barbarians who sentenced a rape victim to be flogged. What, if anything, does the Canadian Islamic Congress have to say about this?

MCC President Farzana Hassan: Saudi Arabia’s treatment of rape victim unconscionable

To her utter misfortune, the woman was gang-raped during the ill-fated trip to meet her fiancé. Yet, instead of receiving redress for the atrocity, she was awarded the brutal and humiliating punishment of 200 lashes along with a six month prison sentence.

…Saudi Arabia’s verdict on this young girl is unconscionable. Not only is it harsh in comparison to the so called “crime”, it also places the onus of rape almost exclusively on this woman by bringing into focus her infraction of having violated Saudi law, thereby suggesting she brought vulnerability upon herself.

Such messages reek of patriarchy and misogyny as the woman according to the verdict must be taught a lesson by serving a sentence and receiving a public flogging. Saudi Arabia continues to implement a justice system that is medieval and archaic in upholding the most literal interpretations of the Islamic Shariah. Yet despite its cruel manifestations, as in the case of the nineteen year old rape victim, there is an absence of public outcry from within Saudi society.

The Muslim Canadian Congress denounces terrorism unequivocally.

MCC condemns London Bombing as barbaric and cowardly
“It’s a crime against humanity”

TORONTO - The Muslim Canadian Congress has condemned the terrorist action in London and has labeled it as a barbaric action of cowards and a crime against humanity.

Reacting to reports that Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the bombings, Niaz Salimi, President of the MCC, said, “For too long the Al-Qaeda and its apologists among the Muslim community have been holding the Muslim world hostage. …The MCC urges Muslim throughout the world to fight the terrorist cancer, which if not confronted, will affect the entire body of human civilization.”

Perhaps these “apologists” include the Canadian Islamic Congress. That would be our conclusion based on its attacks on Mark Steyn.

This does not mean we agree with everything the Muslim Canadian Congress says, because the above statement blames the United States’ invasion of Iraq for giving Al Qaida the opportunity to recruit more terrorists. Al Qaida probably did derive this benefit, but it must be balanced against the virtures of removing the murderous dictator Saddam Hussein, along with the opportunity to kill Al Qaida members in Iraq. Furthermore, the Muslim Canadian Congress published this opinion when the terrorists in Iraq were much stronger than they are now.

Criminalize Allegations of Apostasy

TORONTO - The Muslim Canadian Congress has reiterated its demand that the Canadian government consider criminalizing accusations of apostasy and blasphemy often levelled by Islamists against their Muslim critics.

The MCC was reacting to the attack on Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin by Islamist Indian legislators last week. The exiled Bangladeshi writer was physically attacked at a press conference and later accused of being an apostate and thus worthy of death.

We add that, while the First Amendment protects freedom of speech in the United States, this protection does not extend to calls for the murder of identifiable individuals. While a mere accusation of being an apostate would probably be legal under the First Amendment, the additional statement “worthy of death” in combination with exhortations to act on this could cross the line to “incitement to violence,” which is a criminal offense.

All these statements show that, in contrast to the Canadian Islamic Congress, the Muslim Canadian Congress is a responsible and genuine Islamic organization. Even more to the point, however, is the fact that Islamic supremacists are making their typical pre-medieval death threats against the Muslim Canadian Congress.

An extremist, swearing in the name of Allah, has threatened MCC president Farzana Hassan and founder Tarek Fatah, promising to “slaughter” them along with all members of the Muslim Canadian Congress.
